why is my macbook pro screen on small dots

We're glad you thought to ask Apple Support Communities about the issue you're having with your Mac showing those white dots. It's hard to tell from the picture, but are these dots on the outside of the display and Mac enclosure? If so, here's a guide on cleaning your Mac to see if those can be cleaned off:

If those dots appear internally, does restarting seem to help? Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac

If not, let us know more details about what you're seeing. Do you see the dots on all screens and applications? If you change the background do they still appear: Change the desktop picture (background) on your Mac
