apple has suddenly declared hp printer scan softwar is a virus Apple seems to have declared my HP printer scan software is a virus. Had recently done a virus scan using Bitfender which found no problems. Then days later went to use hp app to do a wirless scan and following notice popped up .Did a second virus scan, still nothing so did a reload direct from apple store .still the same. Prints OK and scans ok from a computer using high seraria , so completely removed old and replacement apps and down loaded again. Still a stoppage and no scan. Have looked in system preferance /security and preferances and can find no way to chang and tell it has made a mistake

Mid 2013 macbook air running BigSur 11.6.3 has a worm? Suggested virus protection? Looking for recommendations for virus protection software for mid 2013 MacBook air running BigSur 11.6.3. (No further updates available due to age of device. ) Intermittent issue printing from HP printer diagnosed by HP as a worm in my network for which they wanted to sell me virus protection for my network. Wasn't sure that was the right thing to do. Downloading new drivers helped, but still experience printer issue 10% of the time. Can usually troubleshoot with HP Smart app, but would like to eradicate problem if possible. Trying Malware Bytes for 2 weeks.

Something else is going on. It is not possible for a Mac to be infected with a virus.
