Safari freeze when create a password in safari or reset a password

Seriously, there still isn’t a fix for this? I have the same issue on my 12 Pro Max. They’ve done a few security updates on the latest iOS and it’s still not working. I have the exact same issue described. IPhone freezes when I go to create a password. I’ve noticed it does eventually work but it’s like 1-5 minutes to enter each field.

It’s been happening on my 11 pro max. I think I was able to make it work once but it was really slow and I could keep tapping on the same button. I’m at the point where I was going to get the pro max 12 but if it has the same issue then there is no sense in doing it. Do we have to switch to an android phone in order to register with anything with a password?

So tired of this APPLE phone problem with resetting passwords through an email link!! Every time I need to access a page that I have forgotten password for, then try to reset, my phone freezes on the reset page!! I have to go on my old slow pc laptop cause I can’t afford a MacBook!! Beyond frustrating!!!! Fix the problem Apple!!!

I spoke with Apple Support. She had to check on this issue. She said Apple is aware of it and working on it. But still no fix. For now, use Safari in "Private" mode. Or use a different browser like Ecosia or Duck Duck Go.

Having same issue on iPad Air 2 tried updating the iPad os but it did not fix it it also works in private browsing but I can’t use that as it does not save my accounts cookies if I exit out of Safari

also tried restarting iPad and clearing all data as well as disabling detecting compromised passwords and autofill and it does not work

Hi, my english is rust but i have the same problem on my iphone 12 mini, last iOS. I do a workaround disable the auto generate password. it works but i can't use the auto fill strong password resource...

go in settings>password>autofill passowrd> and disable auto fill password

This issue was fixed for me in a recent iOS update. Make sure you're on the latest iOS 14.6. The issue was Safari. If you still have the problem, for now you could use a different browser for entering info. I used the Ecosia browser. No problems there. Others have suggested switching to Private browsing in Safari.

I just got a iPhone 12 and the same thing is happening to me. It’s so annoying as I do everything on my phone for work and I can’t create a password on any website :(

The update took care of the problem for me. None of the workarounds suggested here worked for me. Apple says the problem was Safari, but I had the same problem with Google Chrome so it was more than just that. If you update and the problem doesn't go away I would go into an Apple store and have them look at it because it did fix the problem for a lot of people. Of course, I can't say all people were fixed because not everyone posted back. I hope it works for you so you don't have to pursue it any further. It was extremely frustrating and was a problem for many months until they "fixed" it with the update. I'm using version 14.6 and I have an iPhone X. Good luck!

Lmao and greg from apple bragging about how fast safari is and yet it freezes up when I am trying to create an account or when I’m trying to change my password on multiple websites.

I either use DuckDuckGo or go to my iMac. It is frustrating when you need to change a forgotten password to access a critical website.
