Safari freeze when create a password in safari or reset a password

Very annoying, same problem on iPad. Think it was after latest update. Seems worse when trying to change, update and reset passwords but does occasionally when just browsing.

Doesn’t happen on Chrome.

Come on Apple, get it sorted.

Although when the “delete x” disappeared on google search a few months back on Safari it took ages to sort.

I have exactly the same issue. I’ve noticed this happening quite a lot now. My phone has been upgraded to the latest IOS 14,2.

I tried to create a password this morning on the Safari and the whole browser juts froze. I tried it a few times and it still didn’t work. I had to open Chrome which was fine and I was able to finish my password set up.

Apple, you must sort this issue ASAP!

Same here on iPhone11 after the latest 14.2 update. Support said to reset to factory defaults and restore from backup. Nope. I am not going to update my ipad as a result of this issue. It is pretty pathetic - they clearly don’t do rigorous enough testing when they are releasing updates. I will try installing duckduckgo browser as others have done.

I am running into the same problem whether it's create, forgot password or something to that nature, frozen. Iphone 11 pro max and iPad are all updated, I have done hard shut downs, it never works. I can forward the same link to my daughter's iPhone 6+ and she has no problems so it has to be something that is updating newer devices that the older ones don't apply. This is massive frustrating.

All the above mentioned ways to fix it actually don't. Why should extra steps be expected, Apple just fix it. It is in apps and also web base pages. It happens to all. Not just a list of one's that cause it.

It def is since the last update. I guess they’re not going to fix it since it still occurs every single time. On my iPhone XR and my iPad. It’s so frustrating I just give up. It’s pretty much useless now.

Well thanks APPLE just updated to iOS 14.4 thinking yeah, great that will fix this stupid problem after many months . And guess what !!!!! No it doesn’t , iOS 14.3 and now 14.4 doesn’t rectify problem at all , what was the point I having countless calls to apple support and sending over screen dumps and info for the engineers !!!! Getting so so tired now of trying to use safari and registering on sites . Just need to remember to put edge or chrome as default from now on

I have the same problem on iPhone X iOS 14.4 with password form in Safari freezing entire screen and can’t do anything. It never happened before I till upgrade to iOS 14. I’ve always had keychain storage on iCloud enabled so that workaround don’t work for me and the problem persists. Hopefully one of these apple will address this issue as very frustrating.

It’s disgraceful that this issue hasn’t been fixed yet. It severely degraded the capabilities of the device and utterly negates the usefulness of safari. I’ve switched to chrome for many tasks on my iPhone because safari freezes every time I need to create an account and often when I’m just loading password information. This began just a few months ago but I’m fed up.

I’ve been experiencing this since 14.2, I got a new iPad for Christmas not because of that reason though my other iPad was fine but both of them do it and right now on my current iPad I am on the update 14.4. I have gotten frustrated about this and wish I knew what to do. I love apple and can usually fix this stuff but do not know what to do.

That you can turn off password auto fill doesn’t help in the least. The point is that we want password auto fill, which worked prior to the iOS update that caused this a few months ago. So turning it off isn’t a solution. Switching to chrome might be better (for me) but I like safari. Apple should fix this.

I bought a new iPhone 12 Pro a week ago and I’m having a terrible time setting up passwords because of this ridiculous issue. I went back to Apple after years on an Android and I’m starting to regret my decision :-(

Just how long does it take to fix a bug that’s been out there for months? Crazy...

Yep! It’s still an issue! I can’t believe Apple is letting this go, we can’t even use our phones to log into websites.... I have a 12 pro max 512! The best of the best and it’s been doing this for months!!!!

It’s really astounding. I momentarily forgot about it the other Fay as I was signing up for a service and used safari on my phone. Two freezes and one crash later I switched to chrome because safari couldn’t handle it. Something happens whenever there’s a space for a new or old password. Apple, fix this issue.

I’ve been having this problem for around 3 months now. I’ve even upgraded my phone from an 8 to a 10s this Christmas but the same problem is still happing so this is definitely an OS problem. Please, Apple, fix this!
