iPhone stopped iMovie working
Installed ElCap and Now my iPhoto disappeared and iMovie will not displace my photos. I have an early 24" iMac

Photos replaced iPhoto, not iMovie.
Launch Photos with the option key held down. From the resulting dialog, choose your iPhoto Library. Photos will create a new library from your iPhoto media. Your old iPhoto Library will not be changed, though it will be renamed.
