Audio cuts out macOS Big Sur

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my audio cutting out while my video continues playing. It happens across different platforms like Youtube, Netflix, Hulu. Even Spotify will pause audio randomly. It takes anywhere from 1-10 minutes for it to happen from when I start playing the video. I read that other people had this problem with older operating systems, and there's ways to temporarily fix it, but nothing permanent. Has anyone come across this recently? I'm on a new 13-inch macbook pro.

Same here with both AirPods Pro and Bose Q35II . Works better on Chrome(intel install) yet the problem persists on Chrome, Edge and Safari(worst). Did a clean install of MacOS via external flash drive. Deleted com.Apple.Bluetooth. Logged out of all my devices and logged back in. Updated all with latest update that came in yesterday. Even disabled automatic connect for headphones. The problem persists on 2017 MacBook Pro with16 GB RAM. Something in the background processing interrupting often. Getting ready to throw the MacBook from a cliff. Causing too much stress when I am trying to relax with some video shows or music. Apple, better read this. Posted on many forums and no response. Will dump the devices so fast and not loose any money as the Apple stock has paid for all devices. iPhone is fine. Will keep it along with AirPod Pros to use along with. Frustrated user.

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?:

You said “new”. So. my question is: how old is this Mac? If it is purchased from Apple, and has been less than 14 days since the transaction went through, then contact Apple. Request either a swapout, or a return.

Note:

If more than 14 days, You have a one-year, out-of-the-box, limited-warranty. So, contact Apple Support and request a swap-out. Right now, there is Send-in Service, available, if no Apple Store is open.

Apple Contact Us:

--- Contact Us - Choose Locations

--- USA: 1(800)MY-APPLE

--- Proceed from there as Necessary

How Send-In Service would Work:

  1. They’d: ship you a box
  2. You’d: ship it back
  3. They’d: look at it
  4. You’d: get a new one, if approved
  5. Also, include some notes: Send-In Service - Include Handwritten Notes with the Packagingin

NOTE:

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, calls are taking a bit linger to get through. And, that makes sense, because many are at home working out-of-the-house or are taking classes over-the-web, this they have more time on their hands to contact Apple Support. So, it might take a bit to get through to Apple Support. But, just stay on the line, and someone will be with you. :)
