Due to the new Big Sur update I have nowhere near enough space to install the Sound Library onto my laptop, then move it onto my external hard drive. What do I do?

You cannot relocate the sound library if a sound library exists or the drive is used for Time Machine backups.

I have tried this, but I cannot select the external hard drive as the location to relocate my sounds. It has the space, it's just greyed out.
Even if the Time Machine is separated as a partition within the drive? Is there a way I can get rid of the sound library and do it from the beginning?

A partition is treated as a drive.
Delete or rename the Library folder on the external drive.
