External Display USB-c Monitor issue

I have a MacBook Air M1 (base model) and a LG 27QN880-B 27” QHD connected via USB-c. I keep my MacBook Air open because I use it as a Secondary screen and the LG (primary).

The issue (2) is that when I wake up the MacBook Air from sleep the monitor doesn't turn on. I have to unplug and plug again the USBc to turn on (sometimes I have to do it multiple times). Second issue, the performance seems to be a bit choppy and sometimes laggy (cursor seems to skip sometimes) with the external display connected.

This used to not happen before (MacBook Pro Intel Mid-2018), I would imagine with the M1, things would run smoother... but it's otherwise.. worries me a bit...

To let you know, I used "time machine" and restored my MacBook Air from the MacBook Pro content would this also cause issues as I'm seeing?

Thank you All!

Update: I exchanged my MacBook Air M1 for a new one... after all the troubleshooting and no solution.

No more issues with the external monitor anymore upon waking up the MacBook Air.

I am running BigSur 11.1

BUT I still have mouse issues.. with the mouse cursor skipping around sometimes.. I have a Logi MX Anywhere 3 (changed from the MX anywhere 2). I now use the wireless dongle and no issues.. It saddens that I cannot use bluetooth mouse.. :(
