Trouble with new Macbook Air mouse

Anyone HATE the new ostensibly multi-purpose macbook air mouse?!? It won't move the cursor where I want it when I want it and it's supposed "multilevels" of pressure just make the simplest thing problematic. Plus it strains my thumb.

erratic mouse behavior My Magic Mouse behaves very erratically. If I move it (especially sideways), it may zoom in or out as if I were using gestures. If I touch it (especially while moving it), it zooms in as if I'm using gestures. It continues to do this after turning off all the gestures in the mouse settings. There's no lint or other visible debris in the sensor aperture. Tracking speed is below the halfway increment in the settings. Do I need a special mouse pad? Mac Mini M1 Mouse control I have had my Mac Mini M1 for about a day or two now and after moving from Windows PC the process has been really good so far. The one issue that i have is with using a mouse, it feels so horrible mouse control on this Mac Mini, i have tried messing around with the pointer settings and used 3 different mice but non of them are controllable its either deadly slow or ultra fast. This one main problem will be the decision maker for me on whether i return the Mac Mini and go back to windows. Does anyone know of anything i can do or try to resolve this before i return it?

You can use literally any mouse that plugs into your MBA's ports.
