Older iTunes not syncing with Apple Music I have my iTunes 12.8.2 music stored on an external drive (non cloud files for production and DJing), and when I try to open now in OSX 10.11.6 on newer laptop with Music 1.3.5.8 it doesn't recognize recent playlists and changes. You should be able to option-start-Music to access and convert an iTunes Library.itl file created with an earlier version of iTunes into a Music compatible version of your library.
