Cant' update to Big Sur - update not found the requested version of macos is not available

I have a MacBook Pro late 2013 and when I look for updates in System Preferences I have nothing to update. If I try to update to Big Sur by App Store I receive the following sentence:

update not found the requested version of macos is not available

I am very disappointed about this. All server status are on, the OS has been released 11 days ago and I have no VPN or other programs running that could create problems. Obviously I have enough space in the HD.

I had same issue on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017). It turns out that I had to install other updates, which were not shown in System Preferences. I've listed all available updates from terminal:

sudo softwareupdate -l

This command found two updates: "macOS Catalina Security Update" and "Safari14.0.3CatalinaAuto". After installing them with following command:

sudo softwareupdate -i -a

and restarting the system I was able to upgrade to Big Sur from System Preferences.

If as people stating the fix is to replace the i/o board, it costs $25 and here is how to do it in order to unbrick your macbook pro

https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Pro+13-Inch+Retina+Display+Late+2013+I-O+Board+Replacement/27284

and here is where to purchase it

Again, this is the case if the i/o board unbricks the laptops. As I read, this is what Apple is doing and charging between $150 - $500.

Hey, don't jump on me. I might be wrong. I only read about it on the net and didn't try it myself.

I just tried this morning - 4th February, 2021 - for my 2012 Macbook Air 11" and have the same problem. The app store claims that the Big Sur update cannot be found, even though I'm clicking 'get' on the Big Sur page. This is stupid. Apple need to fix this.

I also tried going to the Apple website for Big Sur and clicking 'get' and it takes me straight back to the app store - same problem. So even though my Macbook Air is compatible according to the Big Sur specifications, I can't update it to Big Sur.
