AirPods- “sound pending when connected”. What does that mean? Connected to what? If they were charging I wouldn’t be looking for them.

What does that phrase mean? Connected to what? I know they’re in my house so if they could beep on Find My Phone app that would help. My Bluetooth is on so it’s connected there. They’re in the case & charged.

Hi SylMil,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We understand you're seeing a notification about the sound pending until your AirPods are connected. We'd like to help.

In order to use the 'Play a sound' option via Find my, your AirPods would need to be connected via Bluetooth. Based on the alert you're seeing, it tells us that your AirPods are no longer connected via Bluetooth to any device they paired with previously. That does mean the playing a sound to help locate the missing AirPods won't work. Learn more about using Find My with AirPods here: How to find your lost AirPods - Apple Support.
