since updating my iOS (three days ago) on my iPhone 6s i have had two notifications on security breaches for various passwords i use ... when i check my system information on my phone, it shows almost every password compromised. was there really a compromise on all my passwords or is this a glitch in the new iOS?

Use stronger passwords is what it is telling you.
Another likely cause could be this: your accounts specifically aren’t accessed anywhere else yet it happens that someone else somewhere in the world uses that same password and whatever account that person uses was under a breach causing the iPhone’s security system to inform it’s users that the password overall has been spotted on a password breach list. Either way I’m sure the tech people will release answers/explanations as I typically find their responses to issues I search for.
