Iphone 12 Pro Max Ultra Wide angle lens issues

Hello everyone,

good day.

I just want to ask if anyone have encountered the following:

1.) using the ultra wide angle lens of the Iphone 12 pro max the video output was very noisy and pixelated. It looks as if it’s a video taken below 720p resolution but my settings were at 4K/60fps HDR. The setting were indoors with white led light on. The same I can see happening when using with the telephoto lens sub 720p quality but not as bad as the ultra wide angle lens.

2.) I edited the video a bit to try and de noise the video but then I encountered very long processing time. Like for an 8 secs video the phone needed more than 15 mins to 20 mins just to complete he render.

Thank you in advance if you have encountered the same issues and found a resolution.

regards,

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 14

Listen mate, I know all about photography as I do it for a living so don't chat to me about apertures, sensors and ISOs. The conditions for the test were not dark at all, but a significant amount of noise still appeared. This is neither pro or magic and it needs to be sorted out.

Oh good, then you know when there is limited light available for a digital camera at a limited aperture you get noise since you see it every day; your definition of "dark" has nothing to do with what the camera/sensor sees as "dark."

Same exact issue here, wide modes using the same lights in my studio which are adequate for all other iPhone and settings produce noisy, grainy and unusable results on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. No problems natural sunlight but everything below that level is pretty bad, this is not an actual low light situation, it is a weakness of the product. I have the exact same issue on 12 pro, i first noticed the poor brightness of video using ultra wide lens, while in the exact same lighting conditions the wide lens video is marvelous.

I also noticed the noisy output in ultra wide in almost before sunset.. So actually there is a decent amount of light out there.

I contacted apple support chat and no feedback other than a reset to factory settings.

I don't think it's a hardware issue, but apple to confirm.
