Mac mini M1 - LG Ultrafine 5k display wake problems

Happily I have stepped into the new silicon world and got the Ultrafine 5k display - unfortunately when the Mac goes to sleep it doesn't appear to be able to wake the display when I return. Currently I am having to either force a reboot or shut it down when I am not using it.

Extremely annoying - everything else is lovely but this refusal to wake as it should is so frustrating.

I have looked around and it seems that this isn't purely a Mac mini M1 thing - any help is appreciated.

Mac mini 2018 or later

thanks for responding. I have in fact gone to Apple and requested a return for this monitor. This is unacceptable.

I can confirm that the 4k monitor works perfectly (although it’s smaller obviously). Sadly you can’t daisy chain two of them with the M1 mini.

This worked for me for awhile but it's now refusing to wake from sleep again, even with that box checked.

Please do share when you know. I am now using the 4K screen (no probs) but I’d love to use the iMac 5k equivalent with my m1.

I have am using an Apple Thunderbolt 3 cable and still having the same issues.

Same problem with wake up from sleep on a BenQ PD2700U which is a 4K display! Have to reboot to get the screen to work!

I updated to 11.1 this morning and since then, have had no issues over sleep or screen savers. Both of my monitors are on, bright and clear. So far, so good!

I can happily respond to this and say that many monitor swaps and cables later I have returned to the original with no issues. Thanks all for chipping in.
