Why does Apple Pencil battery drain when not using?

Apple Pencil Battery drains even when I’m not using it. I do not always have it docked (charging). So when it’s not on the charger, the battery is supposed to drain?

Yes.

This is normal.

The always on and active nature of the Apple Pencil means it will always and constantly be draining its small, tiny battery, which is not capable of holding a charge for any long, extended periods of time.

Turning off Bluetooth connection to the Pencil will slow down the battery drain, but the Apple Pencil will continually drain no matter what.

You need to be diligent and keep your Apple Pencil charged up to, at least 10-15%, at all times.

It is the way it is.
