iPhone 12 Pro Max Bluetooth Issues

Hello,

I am having Bluetooth connection issues with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I could not been able to connect my iPhone to my headphones. (Denon AH-GC30). My iPhone does not see my headphones. Below what i did before asking this question.

I checked my headphones with my iPhone 7 plus - It works.

I checked my headphones with my Macbook Pro - It works.

Then i checked Bluetooth versions - both iPhone 12 Pro Max and my Headphones support version 5.

Lastly - i restarted my iPhone, updated to last version of iOS, reset network settings, but Bluetooth of my iPhone Does not see my Headphones.

What is wrong with it? Why such expensive phone, do not see my headphones, but my old iPhone does? Both have the same iOS 14.2.1.

(P.S. - could not select iPhone 12 Pro Max in device field, it does not exists here)

I had the same issue - I have a pair of over ear headphones in the app for my headphones, I had to reset the devices that my headphones were paired to. Once I cleared that list, it immediately connected my phone. In short, reset your headphone so they are like new.

Thank you, domer206! This worked. I posted that you found the solution to the following:

A person on this thread said to turn your headset (mine is a Sena snowtalk2) off to reset it. The factory resent on Sena is to click on the right earphone button for 15 seconds. I did that and it worked! Immediately upon turning the Sena back on, the Sena paired with my iPhone 12 max pro phone.

I last posted on here a month or so ago as I could not get my iPhone 12 to pair with either my car Honda Civic 2014 or my Fitbit Charge 2.

Within the last 24 hours I have managed to connect to both!

Firstly, the Honda. Ok, so what I had to do was go into the Telephone settings, (not Bluetooth settings) and completely erase all connected devices, which were my previous iPhone and the previous owners iPhone. Via the Telephone section I then searched for available Bluetooth devices, found my iPhone, paired and all is good, finally!

Fitbit Charge 2, I deleted (forgot) my Fitbit from my iPhone Bluetooth list, rebooted my Fitbit by holding the button in for 10/12 seconds ensured notifications were on my Fitbit, synced and it now works.

I also have a Denon AVR-X3300W which I can also connect via Bluetooth to with no issues.

So, despite all of my annoyance at not being able to connect to anything via Bluetooth since acquiring mu iPhone -2 on launch, it ultimately came down to my needing to erase/forget my previous iPhone from any device to get my iPhone 12 to connect.

There clearly is no issue with Bluetooth connectivity on my iPhone 12.

I believe that there is a backward compatibility with the previous Bluetooth standards. I purchased 2 x iPhone 12 Pro Max's before Christmas and had big issues with them recognising any Bluetooth device I owned. Having tried a number of the suggestions on this forum I eventually got some Bluetooth devices to connect but not all the ones I needed. I ended up returning the phones to Apple and obtaining a refund.

As we have multiple Apple devices at home and also wanting to enjoy all of the powerful features of the iPhone 12 Pro Max I took the plunge and purchased another pair of 12 Pro Max's. My logic for this was that perhaps I had just been unlucky with the first phones and also that this forum now had a number of additional suggestions for fixes. I received the new phones last week and once again have experienced big issues on Bluetooth connections. My old iPhone 7 had been removed from my Apple account and had all of the Bluetooth device connections removed from it before I did the wireless data transfer and set up the new 12 Pro Max. This time around a number of the Bluetooth devices did connect but there is one crucial device that it will not even see let alone connect to. My Suunto 9 GPS watch is something I need a phone to connect to every day in order to track any training I do and utilise Strava. The iPhone 12 Pro Max refuses to see it despite having undertaken a factory hard reset of the watch and ensuring it has the latest software update. My old iPhone 7 reconnected to it straight away when I checked to see if it was perhaps an issue with the watch. This to me is a game changer and so the new phones are being returned to Apple for a full refund.

I am new to Apple. Mine did not work either. I was very angry. I did all I could and it would not work. I talked to Apple support people and they were very helpful. We found a solution (in my case a new phone). I say give them a chance. They make scores of millions of phones every year and it seems a few of them have a problem. I am very confident they didn't release this problem knowingly. Bluetooth is a much too important function to ignore an obvious design defect. It's a lot bigger problem for them than it is for you. My experience was they truly wanted to address the problem and make it right for the customer.

Steps we followed for our PLT backbeat headset 2100 fit-

  1. force reboot the iPhone

press and release volume up button.

press and release volume down button.

press the power button. Swipe to shut down the Phone.

2. start the phone.

3.turn on Bluetooth in the phone.

4. turn off Bluetooth headset.

5.turn on Bluetooth headset and keep pressing or holding the on button and you will see the phone discovering the device.

6.select the device to connect and pairing.

this is how it worked.

[solved bluetooth issue for Amazfit watch]

I’ve switched from iPhone X Max to 12 Max, updated them to the latest iOS 14.3 at that moment and as result can’t connect both to the watch. Same issue with bluetooth as everyone has here. However, connection to my car (Audi) and air buds was still working perfectly.

To fix the wacht connection I’ve tried everything what is described here without no any results.

Eventually decided to use factory reset on the watch. That means a new connection (QR code) to the Amazfit app. It works now perfectly now.

All updates and watch data (cloud) remained.

So, maybe you can use the factory reset or some other reset on you device.

Apple support took control of my Mac remotely and me through the steps required to run diagnostics on the phone which then produced a file which was sent back to them to allow them to remotely analyse the phone. I stress that my phone did not recognise any bluetooth devices from day one, regardless of manufacturer etc. Different to some who can see some bluetooth devices but not all. My phone saw no devices at all at ant time.
