HomeKit Secure Videos over 5 seconds, more than 1080P?

I've been using HomeKit Secure Video, and as far as I can tell, there is no way to record videos longer than 5 seconds, and the camera, which is a 2K camera, will only record up to 1080P when connected with HomeKit, which the app says when I attempt to raise the resolution. My questions, so far, are:

Is it normal for videos to be limited to a 5 second maximum?

Is the 1080p thing a real limitation of HomeKit Secure Video, or is this a false limitation imposed by the camera manufacturer?

FYI, I categorized this under homepod because there is no HomeKit section, and I figured HomePod is the most associated with smart home uses of the Apple devices. Happy for it to be moved if need be.
