Big Sur Can't Drag & Drop Files Across Spaces with Trackpad

Hi, before Big Sur, I can use one finger to press on the trackpad and hold a file, while I use another four fingers to swipe between spaces to move the file around. After Big Sur update, I can't do that. Anyone having this issue as well?

It immediately and continually shifts between the document (with Save dialog box visible for an instant) to the desktop, then to the document, then to the desktop. I can exit this shifting with the ESC. I can save the Word document is NOT maximized.

drag and drop drag and drop does not always work with big sur

Finder stuck in "preparing to move" My finder won't let me move files from one folder to another. If I try dragging a file from one folder to another, or from the desktop to a file my finder just says "preparing to move ..." and has a progress bar. But never moves. I also can't move anything to the trash either. I'm running big sur 11.2.3 on a macbook pro 2017

I have tried every solution put on here - it works randomly, but no way a permanent solution. I have a wired mouse coming tomorrow, so maybe that will work
