Acessing word files on my Ipad

I am thinking about buying the Ipad pro. I have an older version. Since I do not have Microsoft Office on my Ipad that I am using, I am not able to look at my Office files. If I buy microsoft office for my new ipad, will I be able to see my files that are on my HP?

iPod, iOS 11

Many Microsoft Apps for iPad are free to download. For iOS (not iPadOS), there is a single-install Microsoft Office App; this App is designed specifically for iPhone - and offers only a subset of functionality.

Most MS Productivity Apps for iPad (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint) offer limited functionality without an Office 365 Subscription - but only for devices with a screen size of 10.1” or less. Devices with larger screens only permit you to view (but not create or edit) an existing document. Full App functionality requires an active Office 365 Subscription.

Note also that Microsoft only support the current and immediately preceding version of iOS/iPadOS. As such, iOS/iPadOS 13 and 14 are supported and available for new download from the Apple App Store. Earlier App versions, supporting iOS12, are being (or have already been) withdrawn.

Hi JKeiler,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re looking to share Word documents between your PC and iPad. We’re happy to help.

You should be able to use iCloud Drive to share documents between the two: Set up iCloud Drive

The Pages app can open Word documents: Open a document in Pages on iPad
