your message could not be delivered to this non wireless number. what does this mean when you are sending to another iPhone and it says its their landline. are my settings wrong?

This just happened to me, too. I don’t know why it started happening. When I texted my mom’s iPhone, my message was green and didn’t go through, and I received an auto text message saying, “Your message could not be delivered to this non-wireless number....”. I know I didn’t make any changes.
The fix I had to do was just remove her from my contacts, but I kept her texting thread to see what number displayed after removing her. The number displayed was her iPhone mobile number. So then I tried sending her a text, and my message was blue and she responded. Then I re-added her info to my contacts. So dumb, but it worked. Hope what I did helps anyone with else. Good luck.
