Express transit still requires my Face ID

I have been using express transit feature on my iPhone in Hong Kong for a few weeks. The express transit works fine but now even thou it’s still enabled it always asks me for Face ID or pin. Any way to fix this issue?

Face ID down with Bank of America I'm having trouble using Face ID to sign into my Bank of America app: it’s been saying Face ID is “temporarily not available” since Saturday (1/15/22). I try to log in using Touch ID and it says my info is wrong; this has been happening for the same amount of time. (I track my banking via my BoA app and it’s been less than convenient.) My Face ID and Touch ID work for everything else. I’ve been using them as usual, multiple times a day. I have an iPhone X, my iOS is 15.2.1. Thoughts? Solves?

Apple Pay depends on authentication of the purchaser so the PIN,, finger or facial ID is needed to complete the transaction
