Mac no longer has write permission to SMB shared folder

I currently have a NAS set up on a Raspberry Pi, and have been able to read/write files to the device from my MacBook Pro until this last week. I still have read permissions, but can not figure out how to fix the write permission. I’ve tried removing and reinstalling Samba on the Pi with no luck. Any help?

You don’t have permission to unlock the file I have a shared directory an on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 iMac and I try to open a document on an macOS Monterrey 12.6 Mac Book Pro M1. When I start editing the file, Pages complains that the file is locked (the file is not open on the iMac and I have rebooted that machine just to be sure there are no dangling file handlers). When I click on the 'Unlock' button I get the You don’t have permission to unlock the file' message. I have the same user name on both machines. I access the server through afp:// but when I do Get Info on the file from my MacBook it shows smb:// . Anybody has a the same issue and was able to solve? Thanx for answering!

sharing over SMB When sharing with Windows PC, and virtual machines, it seems in Ventura, full read/write access to ANY drive overrides the specific folders/volumes set when Firewall is "disabled" That is, when Firewall is "Disabled" all I need is to check SMB for the account on a Mac as as long as "public folder" has full read\write acccess (set by default), then its not just public folder i have access to, its my enite network, including full access to external drives attached. (and i acess as Administrator.. not sure if that is the "reason" but anyway) When Firewall it enabled, it works as expected. I only have access to the folders set in Sharing. I don't seem to rember this "by design" in Big Sur, did Apple change something ?? If so, i would still say its a security issue, not by the fact Administrators have access tio everything anyway, but by the fact its the specific folders/volumes are NOT listed in Sharing (as the issue)
