Iphone 12 Pro Max Keeps Losing Wifi Signal

iPhone 12 max pro not only does my phone drop wifi but the transmission when speaking drifts in and out I have phon on full volume people say they cannot hear me and they drift in and out this phone is dreadful I wish I had never bought it

Thank you for the suggestion, although not a solution for me as I don’t have a VPN on my device (iPhone 12). I am beginning to suspect a hardware issue. My son’s 6s has a VPN and he doesn’t have any connectivity problems. We have several Apple devices and no others are having the data connection problems the 12 has. The iPhone 12 also constantly disconnects from the HomePod so now none of the home automation works properly either.

VPN is Seperate issue and NOT the root cause of this problem. It should be on another thread as it's a different issue altogether. Two devices no VPN on either both experience this symptom and still happens in 14.5. We will be returning both devices for a full refund in the near future as Apple obviously has no intention to fix this problem so the devices are not fit for purpose

Guys, this is a little ridiculous. I keep having to switch WiFi on and off on this device to maintain connectivity. I’ll be in the middle of doing something in an app, and then the connection bombs out. There is nothing wrong with my router, as I just switched over from an XR, and it was fine. I needed the bigger screen size so I upgraded to the iPhone 12 Pro Max. You guys should address this.

Yeah. I’ll even further the point. My cell hotspot is coming off the same router the WiFi is connected to. When I switch to the hotspot, connectivity is fine. When I switch back to the router after about thirty minutes, it bombs out again. Something is off. I’ve only owned the phone for about three weeks. I’m about to return it.

I switched to an iPhone 12 and am experiencing the same problem. Have to switch WiFi on/off at least once a day. iOS 14.5 update did nothing. Is this defective junk or what? Apple needs to respond to this.

I use Google WiFi routers and have not modified any settings. And even if I did, WiFi stalling like this would be ridiculous. Obvious issue with the phone. Maybe bad WiFi chips in which case there needs to be a recall with free fix or replacement.

My iPhone 12 drops wifi signal at least once a week. This is definitely an apple issue. I wanted to add my name to the list of people with exactly the same issue in the hope that this might be fixed. Its obviously got nothing to do with routers. Thanks.

Another experiencing this, dropped wifi calls everytime - its utterly infuriating - come on Apple its time you acknowledged this as a fault and do something to sort it out, this is an expensive phone. My iphone 4 worked better than this!

What if you don't have 5G? How would that work? I am using wifi because the network signal is so weak (4G/rural area/in a small valley in the UK... ) and because I have ultrafast broadband. So it made sense to drop the landline and move to wifi calling... so I thought....

Thanks for your breakdown. It’s 100% their issue. I’ve tried all recommend steps, the last step is apple store.

I will 100% update you if I get anywhere with them. Going on Monday as I use WiFi all day for business and it’s a pain when clients say “been calling you on WhatsApp and it doesn’t connect”

Yep still happening. I set my phone up as new, not restored from old backups. I am on AT&T, and usually only 1-2 bars of signal of LTE (sometimes zero, it's poor coverage) if that might make a difference (I know this is a WiFi bug but could be related).

It even happened when I woke up in the middle of the night when I needed to check something. Phone hadn't been in use for hours, just plugged in. Thought that was strange.

Yeah I’ve tried turning almost every setting on and off and have not had any luck. Shutting down and restarting does fix it. Same with turning WiFi on/off.

What’s interesting i noticed this morning when it happened is that I found that iMessages were still able to get through, while no other app could connect.

It is ridiculous. I’ve got a called logged with them now, they’ve taken diagnostic logs from my phone and I’ve shared the logs of my router.

They have escalated my case, awaiting tech team catch up end of week.

I have my iPhone 12 Pro Max with me together with my 4 year old android phone and I really can’t understand why can’t I connect with wifi / my wifi connection keeps dropping or disconnecting. Is there a proper fix with this? I think it’s not a wise choice that I switched from android to Apple

Have the same issue, but interestingly for me, it only happens for some reason only when my phone goes to sleep! I hope this issue could be fixed cause it's so annoying every time to go into settings and reconnect my iPhone to the Wi-Fi again.
