Iphone 12 Pro Max Keeps Losing Wifi Signal

Hi, had my iPhone for just over a week and annoyingly everyday it keeps losing Wi-Fi signal at random points during the day. Only solution I have found so far is to switch Wi-Fi off in settings and switch it back on. Have reset router several times too. The problem is getting really annoying as I switched from Android after 15 years and have never had this issue with my previous Samsung 10 or Huawei P30 Pro and other android based phones. Anybody found a solution or is it a case of sending the phone back and going back to an android based phone?

I switched off wifi assist it’s in the setting/ cellular scroll all the way to the bottom

it appears to have stopped it from happening

apple put this feature in to switch to a cellar connection if a wifi signal is weak.

I was right in front of the router and it was switching so I just turned it off

I have been having this issue for 2 weeks now on my iPhone 12 PM. Today i noticed that my battery had a 23% usage from an app i had installed "Wifi Map" that i rarely used. I removed this app and this seems to have solved the problem. Not sure how this happened but will keep you posted if anything changes or if this breaks again!

This is what I got….

Hi

Thank you for your email and video.

The department replied to me, it seems that there is a conflicting Wi-Fi CC 0.001 Yes 11:26:00.114Found conflicting country code(s) (gb)

'Tenda_6EFD' — 58:d9:d5:03:6e:fd (CN)

'VM5947820_Ext' — 00:e0:20:1f:d6:7c (US)

You need to contact the network provider support again in order to resolve the conflicting country codes.

If you actually want an answer:

Because the iPhone 12 has newer and Wi-Fi 6 compliant hardware and it’s likely your other Apple products do not.

Therefore they likely put demands on your router and use it in a way your old products do not.

This can wreak all sorts of havoc especially on routers that are compliant when it turns out… they really weren’t.

For example, some Ubiquiti WAPs had issues (and still do if you are running early access firmware) with iPhone 12 and 13 family devices because they are getting something in the protocol wrong, even for routers that don’t have Wi-Fi 6 radios.

At present the fix for that issue is to downgrade those WAPs to an earlier revision of the firmware until Ubiquiti gets the issue sorted out.

At least in that scenario, it has nothing to do with the iPhones themselves.

Though I don’t know for sure, how this typically happens is protocols leave various bits in various fields undefined for future revision, and software is supposed to just ignore what is there.

If the firmware decided to use those bits for itself or just assumed they would always be 0, bad things will happen when they become meaningful in a future update to the spec.

Hey there! Understand that your losing Wi-Fi signal on your iPhone 12 Pro Max and it’s a problem that could happen with anyone! I’m going to tell you some troubleshooting steps that may resolve your issue. First, it may be your Wi-Fi router to far or to many obstacles in front of the router. If your next to your Wi-Fi router and you still have problems please follow these other steps. Second, make sure you have updated to the latest iOS update. To learn how to update your iOS please follow this link now: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204204. If that still doesn’t work please let me know. Thanks!

I've been using the same router (Orbi) at home since 2017 and never had this problem until I upgraded to the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad Mini 6. Both devices constantly drop WiFi.

Same goes with all the restaurants I’ve been visiting with WiFi over the last year as well as two friends’ house I go to regularly. Nobody has updated their routers yet the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad Mini 6 constantly lose their WiFi connection. My previous devices iPhone X and iPad Mini 4 had absolutely no problems and never dropped a connection like this at any of these same places with the same infrastructure I’m connecting to today.

Apple devices are the problem.
