Iphone 12 Pro Max Keeps Losing Wifi Signal

Hi, had my iPhone for just over a week and annoyingly everyday it keeps losing Wi-Fi signal at random points during the day. Only solution I have found so far is to switch Wi-Fi off in settings and switch it back on. Have reset router several times too. The problem is getting really annoying as I switched from Android after 15 years and have never had this issue with my previous Samsung 10 or Huawei P30 Pro and other android based phones. Anybody found a solution or is it a case of sending the phone back and going back to an android based phone?

I switched off wifi assist it’s in the setting/ cellular scroll all the way to the bottom

it appears to have stopped it from happening

apple put this feature in to switch to a cellar connection if a wifi signal is weak.

I was right in front of the router and it was switching so I just turned it off

We have both an iPhone 12 standard and a new iPad air both having the same issue on a Google nest wifi mesh system. Recently we travelled and stayed in a hotel where both devices had the same problem on the hotels wifi. I then took the iPad air to work where I connected to a Cisco wifi network- same issue. Slam dunk result and the issue is apples. My wife had an iPhone XS before this 12 which never had the issue. For the first time ever my wife wants to move to Android.

I already reset the network preferences, enabled 5G, etc. However, the only thing is solving the problem (since yesterday night) was disabling the Wi-Fi Calling. Somehow this worked this time, as I had already done that some time ago and it was not fixing anything.

WHAT TO DO? disable Wi-Fi Calling, on the "Mobile Data" menu; disable also "Location-Based suggestions" on "Location Services".

No idea if you need to disable both, but I did and it worked.

@APPLE it is now time for you to solve this ridiculous thing!!! A phone as expensive as this should not be putting its users to deal with things like this! Take responsibility for this.

Me and my wife an iPhone 12 and a 12 pro max could not get on the internet at all. I have a eero 6 router it is upstairs in bedroom . I also have a Amazon fire stick down stairs that was running on Wi-Fi. I hard wired the fire stick and bought a eero booster for down stairs and the problem has gone away and no issues for past month.

Hope this helps

I have same issue. T-Mobile spent 4 months trouble shooting. Said its a Apple issue. Its on the 12 pro max! My wireless now quit altogether! Started just dropping like the post above. Then got worse. I am downloading the update but since wifi does not work its a major problem! How are you supposed to download updates when wifi drops and quits working? How are you supposed to backup iPhone to iCloud when wifi cuts out to send in iPhone to apple for fix? How are you supposed to backup iPhone to older mac without updating mac OS older mac processor does not support?

These are teal issues that need immediate attention. And a IOS update to rectify. Both T-Mobile and Verizon are aware of the issue and say to either update to newer iPhone or turn 5G off in cellular and set to LTE. The issue is real!

I've been in contact with senior support for a couple of weeks. Last week they installed 3 troubleshooting profiles to diagnose the issue. I sent over 1gb of logs to them. Just had a call that they couldn't replicate even with those logs so trying again (the issue occurred multiple times whilst profiles enabled).

I'd recommend anyone with the issue to escalate when speaking to support. The more logs they have the easier it will be for them to ascertain the issue (and harder for them to ignore).

A also tried switching off private IP. It works for me. I have had my iPhone 12 Pro Max since 15 November 2020 - 7 months. I have tried all the things people have suggested, even though I didn’t always understand them. In the few days since switching off private IP I have not lost the WiFi signal once. Up until now it was happening several times every day. This seems to be an excellent solution. I agree, though, that Apple should have sorted this, especially as we’re now up to iOS 14.6.
