Iphone 12 Pro Max Keeps Losing Wifi Signal

Hi, had my iPhone for just over a week and annoyingly everyday it keeps losing Wi-Fi signal at random points during the day. Only solution I have found so far is to switch Wi-Fi off in settings and switch it back on. Have reset router several times too. The problem is getting really annoying as I switched from Android after 15 years and have never had this issue with my previous Samsung 10 or Huawei P30 Pro and other android based phones. Anybody found a solution or is it a case of sending the phone back and going back to an android based phone?

I switched off wifi assist it’s in the setting/ cellular scroll all the way to the bottom

it appears to have stopped it from happening

apple put this feature in to switch to a cellar connection if a wifi signal is weak.

I was right in front of the router and it was switching so I just turned it off

Hi thanks for feedback, have tried this before on my phone but it still drops wi-fi whether I am close to my router or at the other end of the house it seems to make no difference just keep getting random drop outs and switching wi-fi off then on again seems to be the only annoying way to regain a useable wi-fi signal. Still feel this is an apple issue not a router issue as too many other users complaining of same issue. Is Apple going to offer a fix??

I had same problem on iPhone 12 pro max with wifi signal disconnecting and having to turn wifi off and back on again to join. Check your modem/router 2.5ghz and 5ghz frequency and make sure the name is set to the same for both not different. My modem for some reason had a different name for both so I changed it to the same thing and haven’t lost wifi signal since touch wood

Hi to all iPhone users with Wifi connection issues. After having tried to reset network settings on the phone and resetting the router which didn’t resolve the issue (with all other phones/ipads/TVs having no issue) and having had lengthy conversation with Apple Support / remote diagnostics of my phone which didn’t reveal any hardware/software issue, I ahve tried to turn off the “Connect-on-demand” in all my VPN client apps which finally resolved the issueand WIFI connection stays on with the download speeds at perfect values.

If you have started having your wifi-connection issues after having installed VPN client on your phone, try to switch off Connect On Demand.

Hope it helps!!!!

have a good day everyone!

I have had the same issue with my iPhone 12 Mini since the day I received it. The phone shows it’s connected, but it’s not, and apps I use frequently such as WhatsApp and the Apple weather app won’t open. I discovered the same “fix” that you did (switching the phone’s WiFi off and then on again), but that’s very annoying. I’m hoping a future software update will cure the problem.

Same here. Several times throughout the day the Wifi speed drops to zero on the new iPhone 12 Pro, my wife’s 11 at the exact same time works fine. I use Google Wifi and I haven’t change a thing in several years... I’m on the Apple lease program so I’ve been thru several iPhones with the same Wifi and never had an issue.

and yet another “same issue”...as of Jan 23rd, 2021.

Just bought an iPhone 12 Pro Max this week and have to switch WiFi off then on periodically throughout the day. Not using VPN. I have over 20 other devices on my network, to include iPhone X, IPhone 11 Pro, 4 iPads, 2 Mac books, 2 iPods, 2 Apple TV’s...and no connection issues whatsoever with any of those devices! My ISP connection is over 400mbs and I have a full scale Ubiquity network. CLEARLY THIS IS AN IPHONE 12 ISSUE. APPLE....FIX THIS!
