Iphone 12 Pro Max Keeps Losing Wifi Signal

Hi, had my iPhone for just over a week and annoyingly everyday it keeps losing Wi-Fi signal at random points during the day. Only solution I have found so far is to switch Wi-Fi off in settings and switch it back on. Have reset router several times too. The problem is getting really annoying as I switched from Android after 15 years and have never had this issue with my previous Samsung 10 or Huawei P30 Pro and other android based phones. Anybody found a solution or is it a case of sending the phone back and going back to an android based phone?

I switched off wifi assist it’s in the setting/ cellular scroll all the way to the bottom

it appears to have stopped it from happening

apple put this feature in to switch to a cellar connection if a wifi signal is weak.

I was right in front of the router and it was switching so I just turned it off

I have got the same identical issue.

On my 11 pro max I never lost wifi signal.

On my 12 pro max I lost wifi signal several times in a day and the solution is to turn off and on the phone.

On beta 14.5 the trouble is still there.

Apple, please, listen us, we cannot afford anymore paying so much a device which doesn't work properly.

Tomorrow I will get a replacement and I will update this topic.

I am also having this issue. Definitely not a router problem as have other things connected all getting above 100mbps up to 300mbps. Yet my new iPhone 12 is barely getting 1, if I’m lucky I can get 4mbps! I have followed all the trouble shooting here and it might work properly for a few minutes but before long I’m back to 4mbps max.

This is ridiculous for a new phone to be so awful. I’m shocked that nothing has been done about this by Apple so far, especially as there are so many of us all experiencing the same issues.

I am so happy I found this thread!! I thought I was crazy!

I upgraded from 10 to the 12 Pro in early December 2020. Within a week, I was unable to use any app that was internet based when connected to wifi. I tried every single “fix” I could find on Apple, Google & my carrier’s (Verizon) website, several times over. I also tried five different routers. Nothing worked. It bears noting that I had zero issues with my 10 or the 4 previous versions of the iPhone I’ve owned. I finally had my phone & SIM card replaced under warranty. It worked. For one day. Now, I have to have my phone connected through my data plan at all times. Because of that, I had to upgrade my plan to unlimited data, which isn’t cheap.

Like others, I’m disappointed I upgraded to the 12 Pro & wish Apple would do something to address this issue.

I've been reading some of the replies and answers and i cant help but think in my opinion this is apples problem and not a router or any issue we can control or fix. the problem seems more in the switching of towers and also wifi. i can be at home and all is working well then i fo to work and have no net or wifi at work. I reset with airplane mode which remedies the issue until i go home and have the issue there. this is a switching issue and apples baby to fix. however i don't think they take us seriously enough to put any effort into a fix. probably returning to droid after this iphone 12 is paid for and i love my phone otherwise.

I’m having the same issue with my IPhone 12. I got it a few months ago(February maybe?). At first, everything worked great. Never had any wifi issues at all. Then all of a sudden, I couldn’t use airplay anymore and some apps seem to work with wifi but google seach won’t and Spotify won’t work under wifi either. It’s not the router as I tried all the troubleshooting solutions and all other devices on the house work just fine. Plus we even changed providers this week and the problem persists....only my my brand new iPhone 12. It’s incredibly frustrating. I’ve been with iPhone since the 5 and never had many issues but this is ridiculous. Many people are clearly having the same issue. Is Apple going to do anything about this??

Here's a screen capture example of the issue.

Connected to my 400mbps WiFi network that is working fine. I try to navigate to a website in Safari, WiFi is on and shows connected, other devices on the network operate perfectly, yet it is completely unresponsive and never loads as if there were no connection.

Quickly toggled WiFi off/on via control center and it magically works right away.

This happens at least once a day and it TOTALLY unacceptable. I have no special settings, no VPN, nothing. It is clearly an issue with the iPhone. Apple NEEDS to respond and address this problem.

You know this is a hardware problem that is confined to a certain subset of components apple uses to assemble thier iPhones. The problem is not widespread since it hasn't made it on the main stream Apple sites. If it were a software problem it could have corrected with thier updates. Keep trying but I switched to my Android phone until the iPhone 13 comes out. I've had every iPhone since the 5 and have never had trouble with thier products.

I’ve the same issue with an iPhone 12.

have a android tablet, MacBook and windows notebook in the same WiFi, and they have still access when the problem occurs on the iPhone.

For the standard answers from Apple support are not worth to write them. They are like automatic call machines to repeat “have you reset your router?”.

it is definitely an iPhone/iOS problem.

I need to say that pre iOS 14.5 I had this issue daily. Since iOS 14.6. It occurs 1-2 weeks. It is annoying, because I’m not able to notice that WiFi is not working, and so I’m missing important messages and emails.

Apple it’s time to get your things done because an old android phone is better on WiFi than an iPhone 12.
