Pages Application won't open on Macbook Pro

Once I try to open Pages, it closes immediately.

Tried restarting my laptop, but that didn't help either.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.0

Hello LarsCastelijns,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

We understand that Pages is not opening on your MacBook Pro.

Have checked to see if Pages has an update?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Pages? A safe way to do this is to place the Pages application into the Trash. Make sure that you do not empty the Trash.

Once Pages is in the Trash, follow these steps to from the article, Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books:

"How to redownload apps on a Mac

  1. Open the App Store on your Mac.
  2. Click the sign-in button  or your photo in the sidebar. Sign in with the your Apple ID that you originally used to purchase the item.
  3. Find the app that you want to download.
  4. If you use Family Sharing, you can choose a family member's name next to "Purchased by" to see their purchases.
  5. Click the download button  for the app. Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows and books"

Once Pages has downloaded again, try opening it to see if that solves the problem.

If the issue continues to persist after a fresh install of Pages, contact Apple Support.

We hope this information helps you!

Kindest Regards.
