iOS Mail - Move Suggestion

When I try and organize my mail into subfolders (or mailboxes) the move suggestion is always defaulting to Move to 'Important'. How do I change this?

I figured it out. It has to do with your gmail settings.

  1. Go into gmail in a web browser and select all of your mail.
  2. Mark it all as not important.
  3. Next, in the top right, click the gear icon and select See all Settings.
  4. Click the Inbox tab.
  5. In the Importance markers section, select No markers.
  6. Next, select Don't use my past actions to predict which messages are important.
  7. At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
  8. You must have IMAP access enabled (find it on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab--make sure to save changes if you have to turn it on).
  9. Click on the Labels tab.
  10. Hide the Important label.
  11. To the right, uncheck Show in IMAP.

After you go through these steps, close the Mail app and reopen it. Your Move suggestions will now reflect your actual preference.
