M1 MacBook Air with external monitor crashes when sleeping

I've gotten several crashes this way. Almost every time I let my MacBook sleep while connected to the monitor. Here's an excerpt of the crash dump:

Just another follow-up:

I set my M1 power saving settings to default now (turning off the display after 15 minutes and allowing the computer to put the laptop to sleep when the display is off).

I actually tested this by setting it to 1 minute and walking away for 2 hours. Came back after dinner, computer was on the lock screen but had not crashed. (this was the expected behavior)

So, again, setting the DP port on the monitor for the Thunderbolt input to DP 1.2 seems to have resolved the issue for me as well. I still have the it set to DP 1.4 on the standard DP input port on the monitor, which is connected to my PC.

Will Apple actually fix the error and make MacBooks compatible with DisplayPort 1.4?

Or will we need to just live with 1.2 and all the associated scaling issues etc.?

I am having the same issue with Air M1 and LG 34GN850.

Display Port 1.2 does not solve the problem.

Sorry to say I’ve had a crash on 11.3 restoring my external LG monitor. Screen went pink and the m1 MacBook Air rebooted.

11.3.1 didn't solve this for me. The other sleep-related issues I mentioned earlier are also still there.

yeah ive crashed a couple times since my last reply. super annoying. 11.3.1 did not fix it

Just tested on 11.4. Still crashing on sleep/wake.

M1 MacBook Pro / LG 38WN95C / CalDigit TS3Plus on a thunderbolt chain.

So many months and updates later still no fix for such a serious problem (Macbooks crashing after sleep for no reason because they are connected to an Apple branded monitor?!?)

Hello @RedBrown i am using thunderbolt type-c to monitor's type-c with type-c to type-c cable. Is your solution works for me? My monitor is supporting DisplayPort.

Update: Please ignore my "solution" because MacBook Air M1 just crashed when I woke it up in the morning. I saw the same pink screen when it did.

Unfortunately my M1 MacBook Air with 11.5.1 still crashes even after the safe mode is turn on, clean macOS install, with or without a monitor connected.
