Screencapture Clipboard Not Working

After I upgraded to Big Sur, the Screencapture to clipboard no longer works. I can capture to the desktop or to a message but not to the clipboard. I verified that Preferences/keyboard/shortcuts "Copy picture of screen to the clipboard" is checked and have restarted the 2018 Macbook Pro. Suggestions?

No - its there but nothing happens when I attempt to capture. However the other "Save to" features work as in the past.

I will reinstall macOS. Thank you

I have had no issue on Big Sur in this regard, old or new way—

Shift Control Command 3 still takes it to Clipboard as expected.

You can always —

Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache,  etc.  Login and test. Reboot  as normal and test as caches get rebuilt.

In Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, it removes malware, etc hampering smooth operation, however a  reboot will put it back to normal mode.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

If no resolve with the re-install I would encourage you to file a bug report:

The other options in Screencapture work - only the capture to clipboard does not work.... I have used this feature for years on systems prior to Big Sur

So according to the link above, you are saying when you open Screenshot (Shift Command 5) you have no Option to save to clip board?

In this case I would re-install the macOS on top of your existing macOS—
