I understand your frustration and as a former windows power user I can say that Macs last way longer and are a lot less problematic than their windows counterpart. My issues with my M1 were resolved by updating the OS and performing a SMC reset. Since I've done this I haven't had one crash and it has easily been two to three months. Before it would crash daily. I have both the M1 MacBook Air and the M1 Mini. Both resolved issues with the software upgrade and SMC reset (for the Air only).
Apple support has been terrific. I tweeted and they responded with a bunch of steps to try, one of which worked. The M1 Mac is a quality unit. They are putting the shine on the apple as we speak; maybe released a bit too soon before the software was fully ready. This is normal for most early releases to have a few issues. Would suggest you get with support and give them a chance to resolve the issues.
