FCPX not responding

I have a new iMac 27 inch with internal SSD and 40GB RAM. FCPX has been pre-installed by Apple.

But I can never finish a movie edit without FCPX 'not responding' a couple of time.

How is this possible? All is brand new and installed by Apple?

Any idea? Thx.

It should show up in the EtreCheck report but have you installed any third party apps since getting the new machine?


I ask this because earlier today I installed the "BT Cloud" app and suddenly my Mac started crawling . . . 30 seconds to open Safari and beach balling when asked to do the slightest task.


Activity Monitor showed that BT Cloud was hogging almost 100% of the CPU.


I deleted the offending app and my iMac immediately returned to its normal state.
