Volume

When I tap the volume buttons on my keyboard I get the symbol on my screen, but instead of the bars that would go up and down, there is a circle with a line through, like the stop-sign (on the road or in UNO). I can't change the volume anymore through my keyboard. Does anybody know what happened, or has anyone had a similar problem? Maybe I changed a setting unknowingly...
