Problem in Instagram
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max, I can't tag people on my Instagram image My wife has the same problem. But if you do it from another device, everything works

Hello, I was able to fix the issue. First I back up everything with icloud, then I reset my phone selecting Erase all content and settings. And then when my phone restarted fresh with nothing on it as I did not use the option to restore from my back up. Instead I just logged in my apply id so that my pictures and videos from icloud will be download back on my iphone. And then I download all the apps I needed manually from App Store including instagram, and just like that I can tag anyone again on my post. It works for me. You can try if you want but I can't assure if it will also work for you guys. Hope this helps. Hope that all of you will have a fix on your tagging issue with instagram. Take care always guys.

Hi! I have the same issue for almost a year and this get worse when my other apps has the same bug
please do some of these in order:
- try uninstall the app (if this don’t work, jump to no. 2)
- upgrade your iOS (if this don’t work, jump to no. 3)
- reset all settings. In Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings

Erasing iPhone like @ramer512 said indeed works, can confirm.
I just fixed mine today. Reset All Settings did the trick. No need to backup as it doesn’t erase any media
