How to connect old Sony link Camcorder to imac pro

Hi.

I would like to connect a Sony HDR HC7 to an iMac Pro (I lost my old iMac hard drive where I had all the clips and I have some of the original mini dv tapes) and I don't know what kind of cable or adapter I need.

I have an apple thunderbolt to usb c adapter and a couple of firewire cables (mini to mini and mini to 6pin).

I don't know if I need to get the Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter or a simple firewire 6 pin female to usb 2 male conector is enough.

In the Apple store in Mexico they told me he thought just the conector is fine but he wasn't sure.

Can someone confirm?
