iPhone 12 Pro Max Stuttering

I’ve had my iPhone 12 Pro Max since it launched. About two weeks ago I started to notice that there is stuttering whenever I swipe up to go to the Home Screen. This happens with almost every app regardless if it’s third party or not, and at random times.

I was wondering if there is any solution to the stuttering? It is becoming quite prevalent and hard to ignore.

Guys, I think I solved it for myself, I had on my main page a third party widget called Weather Line. many times I saw that widget crashing or going crazy, so then it hit me and took the shot, deleted the widget, and reboot, now I have a full day without more stuttering/vibration/laggy swipes up.

Maybe that could help some of you. Good Luck!

I have a newspaper app (Volkskrant, the Netherlands) which makes my iPhone 12 really warm when I use that app.

I suspect a link to the “stuttering motion when closing an app” problem.

since 2 days, I kill that App after using it. I have not experienced the stuttering anymore since then, while before, I experienced it multiple times per day.

so my theory is that the stuttering motion happens because another app in the background (not necessarily the one you are closing) is consuming too much resources.

Here are the last news about my case.

I spoke with technical support by phone and we made every kind of test. I tried with creating a new account witg a new e-mail but the problem was there. I asked to my friends which bought the same phone and i had the chance to test two different devices both with 128 gb. Mine was 256. Well the two devices didn't have any kind of problem after more than half an hour of use. So i decided to go to Rimini apple store. Well they just laughed at me and treated me very bad. As a fool which wants to be too much "precise". And of course they didn' want to substitute the phone.

The only thing i could do was to write to amazon and ask for the phone to be returned. I am waiting for the refund and i will buy a new 12 pro max but 128 Gb. I am starting to think that it could be a problem with the internal storage from 256 up. i heard that many people have problems with 256 and 512. those with no problem, all have 128 gb. I will let you know.

What is your storage size?

I’m having this issue as well and the Genius Bar staff told me that it’s software and Apple should be addressing it soon and that they’re aware of the issue.

I’m on my 4th iPhone replacement and will continue to complain about it until it’s fixed. I’m gonna be a Karen about this because I have nothing else to do in COVID times.

At least the issue was observed by the Genius Bar people when I complained about it the second and third time and they were able to see the issue. So it’s well documented at least. and they observed it after a factory reset so no case, screen protector, or custom apps when the issue occurred.

Mine is 128GB.

Although, I have been paying extra attention to my phone for the past week or two and I’ve noticed that the issue has become less prevalent.

I have noticed that the stutter do still happens but not as often. There hasn’t been any iOS updates so maybe it was that apple support suggestion to restore and set up as new that reduced it for me.

No, it isn’t fixed for me. At this point I’ve just learned to live with it. I’ve been seeing people having the same issue and they get their phones replaced with no avail.

I’ve been dealing with it and every time there’s an update I have hopes it’s fixed but then it comes back after a day. Updated to iOS 14.5 two days ago but just today I experienced the same problem.
