I’ve had my iPhone 12 Pro Max since it launched. About two weeks ago I started to notice that there is stuttering whenever I swipe up to go to the Home Screen. This happens with almost every app regardless if it’s third party or not, and at random times.
I was wondering if there is any solution to the stuttering? It is becoming quite prevalent and hard to ignore.

Guys, I think I solved it for myself, I had on my main page a third party widget called Weather Line. many times I saw that widget crashing or going crazy, so then it hit me and took the shot, deleted the widget, and reboot, now I have a full day without more stuttering/vibration/laggy swipes up.

I actually contacted Apple Support and they told me to restore my iPhone to factory settings since maybe the "iOS firmware restored from the backup might have gotten damaged somehow." I did so and it was such a hassle and it still did not solve the issue...
Thx for your response. They are offering a replacement service but based on others feedback replacement phones had the same exact issue. So frustrating! Plus the replacement phones aren’t really new. It’s just rebuilt phone using new Apple parts. This whole customer facing process is beyond frustrating. Apple support is horrible
well, don't have just the stuttering. That would not be a big problem. The issues are:
Going to the multitask page instead of closing the app while swiping up, which is pretty annoying because it occours many times, and the other one, which is unacceptable, is when using imovie. I recorded a video with the phone, just a few seconds. I imported to imovie, i added some pictures and the file after the rendering has video and speech out of sync. that is unacceptable.
That’s correct. They replaced mine 2. Problem is still there! I even told them it is but they acted smarter than me and were rude about it.
did you end up sending back your original phone or replacement phone?
That's what I did essentially, I gave my 12 Pro Max to my wife, used her 11Pro Max as trade and used my Best Buy points to get the Galaxy S21 Ultra for essentially free thanks to a price match from B&H.
I miss iMessage but this phone is surprisingly good. Android has come a long way from the POS it was. It's still no iPhone but it's far from a horrid experience. I'm glad I went on impulse and tried it. I'll probably keep it and use it as a back up when the iPhone 12S/13 comes out. Or maybe by then I'll be over Android and trade it in for the 12S/13
Mine is doin the same. It also stutters when I’m trying to slide my finger to rewind or fast forward.. any small increment and it will stutter all over the place. Or when I text and want to backspace it will push 17 buttons on the other side of the keyboard. Makes me so mad because my old phone had all kinds of issues.. thought “Hey, the new IPhone for $27,000 will be the best phone ever! Has a cool camera tho
Got the exact issue here. Always brings up the app switcher card view instead of closing the app and going back to the home position.
256gb. What issue are you referring to? The stuttering when moving app to switched from home?

Exact same issue here on my 12 Max. No rhyme or reason for it happening and doesn’t always happen. I’m actually updating to 14.4 now so hopefully that will fix it.

Yea 14.4 did not fix it for me. Every year I feel as if their softwares are getting worst. Even Big Sur on my Mac is acting funky
