missing usb class driver for canon ip110

Have a new MacBook Air, with the Apple M1 chip, OS is Big Sur 11.0.1. trying to connect a Canon iP110 printer via usb cable. After installing correctly, when trying to print I'm getting the error message of "missing usb class driver".

I can't figure it out, anyone able to help? Thank you!

Not sure exactly the issue, given listed supported printer, and macOS includes

PIXMA iP110 Support; at this least shows the concept as viable in Canon AU site.

• PIXMA iP110 Support - Firmware, Software & Manuals | Canon Australia

https://www.canon.com.au/printers/pixma-ip110/support

There may be another path to attempt an installation of the driver &/or firmware.

..Good luck & happy computing.!

Hello,

You may want to reset the printing system and re-add the printer. The iP110 is mentioned in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a printer supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. If possible, in order to avoid USB problems, try a wireless network connection (with or without router) using AirPrint instead.
