MacBook Audio quality for Zoom calls

I have a brand new MacBook 2020. On Zoom and FaceTime calls, people at the other end can barely hear me, even if I shout. On the other hand, if I use my iPhone/iPad I'm perfectly audible in a normal speaking voice. What's wrong with my MacBook?
