iMovie in Big Sur
I did major editing in iMovie, and when I export it, it reverts to the original. No edits at all. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, desert10sgirl,
You are not doing anything wrong. There may be a corrupt preference causing the faulty export, or maybe an iMovie library issue, or possibly a problem with this one project.
First try deleting preferences. It is a safe procedure that will cause no loss of data. To delete preferences, open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if iMovie will export properly.
If no luck, try opening iMovie in a new library and copying your project there. Open iMovie while holding down the Option key and choose to create a new library from the dialogue box that appears. Before copying over the project, select its icon in the project browser view and do a File/Consolidate Library Media. See if you can export from there.
You can also create a new project and, in the original project, do and Edit/Select All, Edit/Copy of the media in it, and then Edit/Paste the media into the new project.

Thanks so much. Saving it in a different library worked!
Great! Glad it's working for you. :)
