BootCamp not working of El Capitan

I have done a lot of stuff and when I go to install windows it gives me an error saying not enough space on your usb. So I manually install the files and then I can install Windows disk. It them creates a blank disk with the amount of gigabytes i wanted but no files. When I restart and hold down the option key to go to Windows it says no bootable usb found press a key and try again. I don't know how to fix this. Please help.

And also why is it necessary to burn it on a dvd. Could I install windows 8 with boot camp then upgrade it

The firmware on your 2007 Mac supports booting Windows from a DVD, not a USB. The firmware emulates BIOS using a layer called CSM-BIOS. This layer supports a DVD boot. However, if you want to install macOS, you can use a USB.

Is there any way to burn it to a flash drive.

No.

Or do I need a dvd.

You need a reputable brand of DVD-R SL blank disc for W7/W8.1. Steps you need to burn the DVD are

  • Right-click on ISO, and choose Burn
  • Expand the Burn dialog
  • Choose the lowest Burn rate to avoid buffer errors
  • Enable Verify and Mount options
  • Burn, and ensure that the DVD mounts and will show you installation files.

Also I don't think I explained it very well. I had an error saying "Bootable USB could not be created. There is not enough space on your disk." So I opened the Windows 10 files and I manually copied them into the USB. I then could make a partition for Bootcamp and when it was done it successfully restarted my computer. It then says No bootable USB found. Insert a key then try again. When I go back to Mac I have the partition created but it does snot have any files on it.

This is the same as my first point.

This is related to my second point. You can check if it is USB2 or USB3 by checking About This Mac -> System Report -> USB -> [Your Flash drive]. It should be 480Mbps.

W10 is not officially supported on Macs older than 2012. You should first try to install W7 or W8.1. I recommend you try W8.1.
