iPhone 12 pro provisioning

I got my new iPhone 12 Pro yesterday. Transferred from the old phone easily and everything worked fine. Except I couldn’t send/receive text messages and make phone calls. In contrast my wife’s iPhone 12 worked perfectly. In checking Apple forums I see many, many such messages and a few stated the iPhone 12 pro and Max need to be provisioned by the carrier. In the meantime missed a critical meeting because of this problem. Then I called ATT. Took 25 min of hold and then the tech told me she had to provision the line.


if you ask me this is stupid. Apple should have figured this out. Incredible waste of time and money.


Apple. Please fix this now, so others don’t have to miss meetings and other important calls to get their phone provisioned manually.

Sorry, but what went wrong is for some reason AT&T's system failed to recognize your iPhone during activation and did not provision it at all. Your wife's phone worked correctly. If you want this fixed you need to post on AT&T's site.
