Hello! I updated my MacBook air 13 to Big Sur and today I got message "Screen is being observed". It was on the login screen. I don't have any permission for screen recording. I have not hooked my MacBook to any external monitor or shared screens with any software. What does this message mean?

It sounds like you're seeing a message saying that your screen is being observed. On your Mac, do you have third party apps that may have access/permission to your screen? You can check that by going to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Screen Recording and make sure no apps are selected.

Another question I have regarding this issue is that I have enabled Microsoft Teams and Zoom to record my screen since I need to record some classes that I teach online.
Is that why I am receiving this message "screen is being observed" on my startup screen?
I have this same issue...a new MAC with Big Sur OS, and it shows this message each time I reboot/start up the computer after it sleeps. I checked as suggested and there are no apps listed, so nothing with any permission to record. Did you find any more advice about what else to check? Clearly, it is worrisome to be warned that I am being observed! What to do????
Which box did you uncheck in Chrome?
I had nothing checked on this and still have the "observation" at log in.
Have you found an answer? I also have given nothing permission to record my screen and I still get the message on my login screen.
Same issue here - No app is checked in screen recordings. Maybe it's because I'm using VnC to remote into my Big Sur Mac Mini?
Did as you suggested...nothing is there...now what could it be?
I have the same problem. When photoshop is running I get the screen observed message. Would be nice to know what triggers this.
Have the same problem. Screen is being observed when Photoshop is running. Photoshop doest have privileges in system prefs to record screen. Latest Photoshop and latest Big Sur. :(
