Apple Music App Streaming to Google Displays

I'm enjoying the fact Apple Music has finally worked with Google to allow it's music to be streamable on the Google Devices.

I've run into an interesting/odd thing...

When in the Apple Music app and I click on the 'Connect to' button to send the music to one of my household's devices, it will stream to any of the Mini speakers. However, if I choose the Google Home hub or a Lenovo alarm clock - the app just doesn't play. It makes a connection noise, but it never starts playing.

Now, if I ask the Google Assistant on these devices it WILL play music from Apple Music, no problem - it just doesn't let me control it from my phone.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello RDW3,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that you are unable to control Apple Music using the Music app on your iPhone. In some cases, you may need to open the app for the device you are using. In this case, open the Google Home app and control playback there.

Listen to music on Google Nest and Google Home speakers and displays - Android - Google Nest Help

"From the Google Home app

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi  as your Google Nest or Home speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Tap Play music under the name of the device you want to use.

Your device will play music from your default music provider. You can pause, resume, change volume and skip forward or backward in the song."

Best Regards.
