I just noticed that the volume icon has disappeared from the task bar in my 2020 MacBook Pro computer. The check mark IS checked next to the "Show volume in menu bar" in System Preferences. But the volume icon IS NOT visible in my task bar. How can I get it to reappear? My software is up-to-date using macOS Big Sur 11.0.1. Please help. Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much for responding and for your helpful suggestions. I had previously tried your suggestions, to no avail. However, I'm glad to report that after updating my Big Sur software to the latest release (Version 11.1), the issue has been resolved and my sound board has reappeared!
