Purple horizontal lines, thick yellow line on screen of Macbook Pro 2017

Hi everyone,

For some reason, my Macbook yesterday has begun to display weird, alternating purple and green horizontal lines on the display and, when the laptop is starting up or displaying a dark object on the screen, a thick yellow line.

These lines seem to come and go depending on what application is currently being displayed on the screen, so I'm relatively sure this is not a hardware issue (I have also never really dropped it) + when I try to screenshot the issue while using the laptop they typically go away. I've also tried resetting the PRAM/NVRAM (I think) to no avail.

I've attached a few photos I've taken of the lines to this post with my iPhone for reference. Any help? My options for support are limited given that the Apple Stores near me are all closed. Thank you so much in advance.

I've got the same problem with my macbook pro late 2017. There are an increasing amount of people with this issue. Seems to be related to the screencable wich is 2mm to short. Same problem as the 2016 models. Apple can repair this, but out off warranty. So i have to pay for a new screen (the cable is part of the screen). The 2016 model can be repaired for free. 2017's not (yet). The 2018-model has a cable wich is 2mm longer.l
