Fitness+ Apple Watch pairing and Apple TV airplay issues

Was anyone able to resolve “the pairing canceled” problem? Everything is up to date and new on my end.

After hours of trying to figure this out, this solution finally worked for me!!!

Had the same issue so I got out old watch connects to it but now my new watch has the cancelled connection instead if acknowledging it’s available at all? What to do ?

Same here. I get The same pairing canceled prompt on my Apple TV regardless of how close my watch is to the actual Apple TV. I tried rebooting both the watch and the Apple TV but still get the same problem

so glad i’m not the only one who keeps getting the “Pairing Canceled” message DESPITE doing all the necessary upgrades across my Apple devices. i’m assuming it’s a glitch and we should be on the lookout for a 14.3.1 update soon. it is day 1 after all...

After updating my AppleTV HD and configuring HomeKit, I followed this process and was able to find success connecting my AppleWatch Series 4. My Memoji icon does not show up either, but the watch paired without having to create another account every time I want to work out. I'm very unimpressed with this rollout but hope over the next few days things will get smoother. Had issues with iPad Pro. All seems to be configured. But it wasn't without a lot of work, troubleshooting and finding community and help in these threads.

No need to do a reset of anything. Perform the following:

On the Apple TV go to Settings > AirPlay and HomeKit. I selected the Room to change the Name, but ensuring the HomeKit settings are completed should fix it. It will ask to pair your phone with the Apple TV.

Go back to the Fitness App and it should pair without issue.

Logout of the Apple TV, sign back in. That worked for me. Originally it showed my wife’s watch and not mine, and I couldn’t get it to connect to mine. Once i logged out and back in, mine showed, but hers didn’t. Was able to add hers with no problem free the sign in

Guys! I had the same problem ( Apple Watch nit pairing with Apple TV and fitness+) but it started working!! Let me tell you how. I was trying to pair for like the hundred time and while waiting my power went out. Ones my Apple TV loaded and my wifi was up, I opened the Fitness app in my Apple TV and boom! It was working!!! Don’t know why but I’m in!!

I had the same issue but it was fixed after I did a full restart of my Apple TV and my Apple Watch (Series 5).

when I initially tried to use Apple Fitness+ on my iPhone, it didn’t work until I restarted my iPhone. It’s a weird bug but doing a full restart should fix it.

I was also have the same problem with the TV app. Then I tried the iPad app and didn’t see the watch at all, so I figured the problem was with the watch. So I erased and re-paired the watch and everything is working well now.

I had the same issue, but I read a comment above that fixed it. You have to make sure you have set up your Apple TV as your hub, which requires going into settings and getting your iPhone (with Bluetooth on) very close to the appleTV (like 2 inches away or less).

many here say setting up homekit fixes the issue; i’m curious if no one has ver done this before?

i have several apple TV and all have been set up as hubs for a long time now.

my wife’s watch has connected to all apple tv’s and fitness with no issue ( other than me running her around house testing this lol)

of course mine does not complete connection. my account shows up on all aTv’s as does my wife’s. whether i select the account or other and go through wizard in the end nothing happens.

i reset 1 of my atv’s to test and same symptoms.

i’m just not going to reset everything; phone, watch, etc . i guess i’m just waiting for apple to note this issue and come out with fix.

the issue appears isolated to Apple TV HD... I have several Apple TV’s and the Apple TV 4K’s work just fine. The HD’s won’t connect. I have a total of 8 Apple TV’s and the issue is consistent based on the type of Apple TV
