I just purchased a Apple USB super drive to watch a home DVD movie. I also have a apple SATECHI connector that helps me to plug other things into my laptop. The DVD uses a USB connection which the SATECHI has. But the message I ge is "connect apple USB to a USB port on this Mac. also the USB accessory needs power. I have tried all the ports for the SATECHI connector but nothing changes with the message.

The Satechi hub isn’t providing sufficient power because the drive needs nearly twice what a normal USB-A device draws. I use a simple USB-C-to-A dongle (Amazon link) and my SuperDrive works fine on multiple Macs in the house.
