Big Sur and SMB Issues

I upgraded to Big Sur and now have found a weird issue with my SMB connection for work. I can connect just fine, but as soon as I try and save anything to the server, the connection drops and completely breaks my network connection. Wipes out Email, chat and internet functions but still shows I'm connected to wifi or ethernet.

We've tried other SMB troubleshooting and nothing has worked yet.

smb server disconnect when copying files Hi, I have begun to experience an issue after the latest update to Big Sur 11.3.1 where my mac disconnects from my work server when copying files or when opening/saving in different programs. On occasion, the connections last long enough to copy over files or to save what I am working on but more often than not the mac just disconnects from the server. Initially, it connects with CMD+K but then I will get the spinning beachball and the finder will close or it will stay open only to close once I start copying files. I am connected over VPN and have selected use SMB in file sharing but the issue persists and is getting worse. I still haven't found a fix to this and I would appreciate it if anyone has had a similar problem and has been able to resolve it. Thanks.

The first thing my IT team thought was the virus software wasn't up to date, but it had error messages telling us to update it.

Has anyone found an issue to this problem. I'm connected locally, no VPN and am having the same issue. So, now I have to copy everything using Parallels which is sad to say the least.

I am using 4.9.05042 and the problem still exists. My network crashes on copying the smallest file to the SMB share.

I have the same problem. Any upload of a file to the smb server causes havoc with the network connection and I end up having to reboot. I am using Cisco Any Connect VPN. When I am at work not using the VPN things seem to work ok. It is only at home with the VPN that it happens for me.

My office tried to give me a new version of our VPN, Cisco Anyconnect. That was tripping up my server and internet connection. Not sure if that helps you at all but hopefully you find a solution too!
